In the Osa Peninsula you will find
amazing spots for diving, specially the sites surrounding
Caño Island Biological Reserve, clear waters with
incredible biodiversity of marine life.
Diving trough this spectacular place you will find exotic
sea life hidden in the rock and coral formations: schools
of reef fish, eagle and giant manta rays, barracuda and
white-tip reef sharks cruising the coral reef, horse-eye
jack, octopus, leatherback turtles, eels... you might
be lucky and see whale sharks, hammerhead sharks, whales
and dolphins dancing on this part of the world.
Boat ride takes around 45 minutes – 1 hour to arrive
to the different dive sites surrounding the island, departing
from Drake Bay area. |

Bajo del Diablo.(The Devil's Pinnade)
With a depth from 15 to 100 ft and a steady current
is one of the best and most popular dive sites and
earned its name from the schools of Devil Rays that
you can see in the area. You will dive through large
canyons and rock formations and have the opportunity
to observe white tip reef sharks, moray eel, octopus,
lobster, blennies, sea stars, parrot fish, puffer
fish, and other tropical fish. |

Cueva del Tiburon.(Shark Cave)
It is a volcanic rock with pinnacles formations
that drops off to 55 ft, where you will find a cave
inhabited by white tip sharks. Due to the national
park regulations it’s not possible to enter
the cave, but you can observe the sharks sleeping
from the opening. The spot has a rich life, you
can see puffers, damsels, boxfish, goatfish and
other tropical fish such as angels, butterfly, damsels
and parrotfish. Also occasionally you can see turtles,
mobula rays and Stingrays. |

Los Arcos (The Arches)
A unique rock formation built by the nature as an
Arch. With an average depth of 30 – 55 ft,
you will find a rich collection of tropical fishes
and you can find schools of grunts to swim through,
diving under the arch. If you are lucky you might
encounter flounder or frogfish. |

El Barco
It’s a rock formation where its relative
easy to observe the white tip sharks, they are
around almost always. You will have the opportunity
to encounter turtles, mobula rays and giant stingray.
Depth average is 40 - 65 ft |

The Coral Gardens
Close to El Barco site, you will find an amazing
area of hard corals where fascinating reef creatures
play and live. This shallow dive (15-30ft) allows
you to see butterflyfish, parrotfish, damselfish,
porcupinefish, octopus and sometimes even the turtles
are around this undersea garden. |

Paradise
If you have dreamed swimming through large school
marine creatures, this probably will be your time
to do it: schools of blue and gold snapper, horse
eye jacks, tuna and rooter can be found there. Tropical
fishes include parrot fish, triggers eels, puffers.
This dive has current and the average depth is 60-70
ft. |

Visibility varies with locations and range from
30 - 90 ft year round
Temperature ranges low seventies to low eighties
year round, with thermo clines according with
depths.
All divers must show their certification cards
to be able to dive.
